Technical Committee Awards

To recognize excellence and impact of the IAPR’s Technical Committees (TCs), the IAPR Executive Committee (ExCo) established two awards: The Outstanding TC Award and the Special Achievements Award. The criteria for both awards are the same: excellence and impact of organized events, educational activities, and member/leader development and governance.

Since its inception in 1996, S+SSPR has been the main joint biennial event organized by Technical Committee 1 (Statistical Pattern Recognition Techniques) and Technical Committee 2 (Structural and Syntactical Pattern Recognition). S+SSPR has traditionally attracted participants working in a wide variety of fields that make use of statistical, structural or syntactic pattern recognition techniques as well as researchers who make methodological contributions to the field.

The IAPR International Conference on Biometrics (ICB), sponsored by the Technical Committee on Biometrics , is the premier forum for the presentation of new advances and research results in the fields of biometrics. ICB, formed in 2006 by merging AVBPA (Audio- and Video-based Person Authentication), ICBA (International Conference on Biometric Authentication) and other biometric workshops, has established itself as a leading international conference in biometrics.

The International Conference on Document Analysis and Recognition is the premier international event for scientists and practitioners involved in document analysis and recognition. ICDAR recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the field in the areas of research, training of students, industry interaction, and service to the profession.
