About Halmstad

The conference will be held in the Swedish city of Halmstad.

Halmstad is located by the sea, with the city center growing across the river Nissan. With some of the longest sandy beaches in Sweden, Halmstad has been one of the most popular Swedish destinations in summer since the early 1900s. The month of June is characterized by mild temperatures, with daily highs well exceeding 20°C, and the sun is visible during more than 18 hours at that time of the year. During the summer months, Halmstad is transformed into a vibrant city, with thousands of tourist visiting the city and many restaurants offering al-fresco dining throughout the whole city and across the Nissan River. There are 22 beaches around Halmstad along a 4 miles long coastline, including the flagship beach of Tylösand which is reachable by bus directly from the city center. With Blue Flag since 1995, this beach can be as crowded as any Mediterranean beach during summer months. Halmstad is also a golf mecca, with 11 tracks. In addition, several coastal paths cross the municipality, allowing plenty of outdoor activities and sports at this time of the year such as hiking or cycling; and the proximity of water inspires many water sports like canoeing, windsurfing or fishing. There is also an amusement park (Halmstad Aventyrsland) and an indoor water park (Halmstad Arena Bad), so families should also enjoy Halmstad at this time of the year.
