Tutorials should provide a comprehensive and in-depth overview of topics relevant to biometrics. They are expected to be educational and accessible, aimed at graduate students, researchers, and professionals from academia and industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tutorials can be either <strong>half-day (2\u20133 hours)<\/strong> or <strong>full-day (5\u20136 hours)<\/strong>, depending on the depth and scope of the topic. While most tutorials are expected to be half-day, full-day sessions are encouraged for topics that require more extensive coverage or have broad community interest. We welcome proposals that include clear learning objectives and a well-structured plan to engage participants effectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Any area of biometrics can be the subject of a tutorial, and possible areas of interest include (but are not limited to):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Recent advances in biometric sensor design and data collection<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Approaches for trustworthy biometrics (e.g., related topics in bias and fairness, privacy and security, robustness, explainability, transparency, etc.);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Biometric recognition aided with generative models;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Developments of multimodal biometrics;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Human identification at a distance;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Open-set liveness detection, anti-spoofing in the wild;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Efficient biometric algorithms using light architectures (e.g. match-on-card\/board, mobile platforms, etc.);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ethical implications of Biometric-related AI regulations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Biometric applications in Metaverse.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Submission Instructions:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Proposals should be in PDF format of at most 3 pages (excluding biographies) and should contain the following information:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Proposed Title<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proposers\u2019 names, titles, affiliations, emails, and brief bio sketches<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Preference for half- or full-day event (the latter requires a brief justification)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Abstract;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Expected target audience, in terms of both composition and estimated number of attendees;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prerequisites for the participants (if any);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>List of topics to be presented with their estimated duration and pointers\/references to the associated literature;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Description of and\/or links to any planned materials or resources to be distributed to attendees;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A short biography of the tutor(s) with relevant experience on the tutorial topic;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>List on any similar tutorial(s) presented in the past by the author(s) on the same or closely related topic.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Tutorial proposals should be submitted via email to the tutorial chairs: Anderson Rocha (<a href=\"mail&#116;&#111;&#58;&#97;&#110;&#x64;&#x65;&#x72;&#x73;&#x6f;&#x6e;&#x2e;roch&#97;&#64;&#117;&#110;&#105;&#x63;&#x61;&#x6d;&#x70;&#x2e;&#x62;&#x72;\">&#97;&#x6e;d&#101;&#x72;s&#x6f;&#x6e;&#46;&#x72;o&#99;&#x68;a&#64;&#x75;&#110;&#x69;c&#97;&#x6d;p&#46;&#x62;&#114;<\/a>) and Zasim Uddin (<a href=\"&#109;&#x61;&#105;&#x6c;&#116;&#x6f;&#58;&#x7a;&#97;&#x73;&#105;&#x6d;&#64;&#x62;&#114;&#x75;&#114;&#x2e;&#97;&#x63;&#46;&#x62;&#100;\">&#122;&#x61;&#115;&#x69;&#109;&#x40;&#98;&#x72;&#117;&#x72;&#46;&#x61;c&#x2e;b&#x64;<\/a>) with the subject title \u201cIJCB 2025 \u2013 Tutorial Proposal\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Important Dates<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Tutorial proposal submission deadline: <strong><strong>July 20, 2025, 11:59 PM EST<\/strong><br><\/strong>Acceptance notification: <strong><strong>July 30, 2025<\/strong><br><\/strong>Tutorial date: <strong><strong>September 08, 2025<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The IJCB 2025 Organizing Committee invites proposals for tutorials to be held on September 08, 2025, immediately preceding the main conference at the same venue in Osaka, Japan.
