Tutorials can be for either half- or full day. A half-day tutorial could be 2-3 hours long and a full-day tutorial could be 5-6 hours long.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Any area of biometrics can be the subject of a tutorial, and possible areas of interest include (but are not limited to):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Recent advances in biometric sensor design and data collection;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Approaches for trustworthy biometrics (e.g., related topics in bias and fairness, privacy and security, robustness, explainability, transparency, etc.);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Biometric recognition aided with generative models;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Developments of multimodal or multispectral biometrics;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Human identification at a distance in less cooperative environments;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Open-set liveness detection, anti-spoofing in the wild;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Efficient biometric algorithms for light architectures (e.g. match-on-card\/board, mobile platforms, etc.);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Biometric applications in Metaverse.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Tutorial proposals should contain the following information:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li>Title;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Abstract;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Target audience;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prerequisites for the participants (if any);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>List of topics to be presented with their estimated duration and pointers to the associated literature;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A short biography of the tutor(s) with relevant experience on the tutorial topic;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>List on any similar tutorial(s) presented in the past by the author(s) on the same or closely related topic.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Tutorial proposals should be submitted in editable format (Word or Latex with the source files) via email to the tutorial chairs: Antitza Dantcheva (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><a href=\"mailto:antitza.dantcheva@inria.fr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">antitza.dantcheva@inria.fr<\/a><\/span>) and Zhenan Sun (<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><a href=\"mailto:znsun@nlpr.ia.ac.cn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">znsun@nlpr.ia.ac.cn<\/a><\/span>) with the subject title \u201cIJCB 2023 \u2013 Tutorial Proposal\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Important Dates<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Tutorial proposal submission deadline: <strong>August 1, 2023<\/strong><br>Acceptance notification: <strong>August 15, 2023<\/strong><br>Tutorial date: <strong>September 25, 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The IJCB 2023 Organizing Committee invites proposals for tutorials to be given on September 25, 2023, immediately preceding the main conference.
